About 4 point 4

Intelligence. What is it? Are we born with it? Can intelligence be developed, improved? Researchers in education around the world agree that the lack of instruction and training in Logical and Creative Thinking and the development of General Intelligence is the biggest fault of the global education system. Can THINKING be introduced as a subject in schools?

The 4point4 curriculum was built upon the convergence of evidence from education, psychology and neuroscience research. The system, developed using the experience of educators, builds the skills necessary to deal with the challenges posed by the society of the XXI century, skills not being taught by traditional academic subjects.

The core of our curriculum consists of using gamification to simulate a real life experience, helping students to draw individually valid conclusions, then finding successful solutions and deciding the optimal way forward…

How do we do this? By exploiting the power of chess and complementary strategic games. Chess and strategic games were always viewed as ‘brain exercise’, however, just playing, while building a certain kind of intelligence, does not necessarily create the skills to deal with problems of everyday life. Our system bridges the gap between the thinking exercise and real life application.

Each of the 160 lessons (consisting of 128 digital lessons + 32 kindergarten activities) gives the students real experience of the learned subject by playing, and gives the teacher the opportunity to be an imaginative and knowledgeable guide. The digital curriculum is suitable for teaching using an interactive whiteboard or a laptop and projector.

As new technologies and developments in the education of thinking emerge, we intend to introduce them into our teacher training and the curriculum.
